Town Vizovice

Vizovice – the gate to Wallachia, located between the cities of Zlin and Vsetin, surrounded by the Vizovice Hills, dating back more than 700 years, currently home to more than 4,500 inhabitants. The town centre forms a monument zone. The most prominent monument of the town is the chateau premises with the chateau building, dating back to mid 18th century, declared national cultural monument. The chateau interiors are richly decorated the premises include a picture gallery and a chapel. The chateau is surrounded by a park accessible throughout the year. A hospital building, founded in 1871, forms a part of the premises, with one of the oldest chemist´s in the Czech Republic. The town is also renowned for its natives Alois Haba and Boleslav Polivka, slivovitz (plum brandy) distilleries and traditional Vizovice pastry, thus offering not only historical monuments and popular architecture, but also many cultural events, concerts and festivals of various genres, theatre performances, galleries, as well as stylish facilities for tourists.
